? 3 Ingredient Vegetable Dip Recipe ?

* I n g r e d i e n t s *
— 10-12 cobs of corn
— 2 limes
— 2 large zucchinis (one green, one yellow, if possible)
— OPTIONAL: avocado, hot pepper and/or sea salt (add these ONLY if you really need them)

* P r e p a r a t i o n *
— 1) Using a bread knife slice the corn off of the cobs, and transfer to a food processor.

— 2) Using a citrus hand juicer squeeze lime juice over corn, and also add any of the optional ingredients, if necessary.

— 3) Blend in food processor until the consistency of a dip, and then transfer mixture to a serving bowl.

— 4) Slice zucchinis into bite-sized rounds.

— 5) Serve with dip, and enjoy!

* I n s p i r a t i o n *
— Enjoy the simplicity of whole, raw foods!

— Leave out the isolated foods, that have been chemically altered with heat, or the extraction of water.*(see clarification below)

— Eat the food that grows off the trees, or out of the ground.

— Each fruit and vegetable is a perfectly balanced piece of nature.

— Nature doesn’t isolate. Nature is whole and pure. She knows what she’s doing! She is infinitely intelligent, and already had it all figured out for us! Have faith in her infinite wisdom.

— It is NOT about eating 100% raw. It is about eating 100% HEALTHY.

— It is unfortunately today possible to be 100% raw, but totally unhealthy…for example, if you are basing your diet on heavy raw foods such as nuts, pâtés, dehydrated crackers and other dehydrated foods, raw vegan ice creams and other dessert treats.

*I know what some of you may be thinking…if he’s saying to not alter the food before we eat it, why on earth is he using a food processor? The answer is that what I mean by altering ones food, I mean altering it *biochemically* on the *molecular* level via heat (which for example denatures protein molecules, leading to a disruption of the molecular conformations themselves). I also feel that altering foods by dehydrating them, too drastically changes the way that nature intended for us to enjoy these foods. Our bodies are almost all water, so clearly, water is important to us. If the fruit or vegetable came with water in it, it should stay with it! Otherwise, our bodies would have to retrieve the same amount of missing water from our very own bodies in order to digest the dehydrated food properly. In my opinion, dehydrated foods literally dehydrate you. So please have them in moderation, and always with a glass of water…but do not make that a habit, as whole fruits and vegetables are always best!

— Enjoy the simplicity of whole, juicy fruits for breakfast! Try to just stick to one variety of fruit for breakfast, if you can. Simple eating is good eating. For the calorie-conscious, the calories in watermelon and other juicy fruits is very, very low…but it is not about cutting calories, it is about eating more of the healthy foods and gaining health! The foods of nature are inherently all low calorie and low fat.

— What is a “Healing Crisis,” or a “Healing Event”? When you eat more cleanly, your body begins to release old toxins that were previously clogged up in your lymphatic system. You may find yourself having to blow your nose or coughing all the time, or on the more extreme end you may have puss come out of the skin, primarily in the locations of your lymph nodes. If you don’t know what is happening, then it can be scary…but now that you know that it is simply part of the process, you can relax! Your body is just getting that stuff out of you as quickly as possible, so give thanks! ;-)

* I n g r e d i e n t s *
— 2 Limes, freshly squeezed or juiced by hand
— 1 Tomato, chopped
— 1 bunch of fresh Oregano, take leaves off of stems by hand
— 1 bunch of fresh Thyme, take leaves off of stems by hand
— 2 cloves of Garlic, peeled & lightly chopped
— 1 head of Romaine Lettuce
— 1 head of Red Leaf Lettuce
— 1 Cucumber
— 2 bunches of Cilantro
— 1 yellow Zucchini
— 1 pint of Alfalfa Sprouts
— 1-2 pints of Cherry Tomatoes
— 2 Nectarines
— 1 Hot Pepper (if desired)
— 1 Avocado (if desired)

* P r e p a r a t i o n *
— 1) To make the dressing, blend lime juice, tomato, oregano, thyme & garlic until desired consistency is reached in your Vita-Mix or other high-powered blender of your choice http://bit.ly/GZsuq or http://bit.ly/3OTXD9

— 2) Chop romaine lettuce & red leaf lettuce as desired for salad, and place in large serving bowl

— 3) Chop cucumber, cilantro & zucchini and place over lettuce

— 4) Next, add sprouts over the top, followed by the cherry tomatoes, then the nectarines

— 5) If desired, you may also add the hot pepper, avocado and/or any other ingredients of your choice

— 6) Drizzle salad dressing over salad or keep on the side, and serve!

How to get kids to eat healthy snacks - Healthy snacks for kids

Kids are gonna snack–but snacks don’t have to be junk food. Author and dietitian Elizabeth Somer has great ideas to help you get your kids to eat healthy snacks.

Encouraging kids to eat healthy snacks
* 25% of your children’s calories come from the food they snack on — that’s a quarter of their daily intake that could be really healthy.

* Remember that until your children start driving, you are the gatekeeper for everything that comes into your home. Don’t bring in chips, cookies and soda.

* It’s up to you to stock healthy snacks for your kids. If all your children have to snack on is milk, fruit and fresh grains, then they will make better choices.

* Set an example for your children during your own snacks and meals. If you want your children to eat fruits and vegetables for snacks then you should eat them yourself.

* Start serving healthy food on a regular basis. It may take 10 times before your kids will try their spinach or carrots!
You can work in healthier foods to your kids diet by adding them to their favorite foods.

Serving healthy snacks for kids
* For snacks on the go, apple slices, baby carrots, yogurt and string cheese are good choices. Stay away from vending machines as much as possible.

* If you have forgotten to pack healthy snacks for the kids and have to resort to a vending machine, try to pick something that resembles one of the four food groups

* Try to get at least two food groups into each snack. For example, a slice of apple (fruit) with peanut butter (protein) is a good choice.

* Stay away from pear and apple juices as they are essentially concentrated sugar water. Orange juice or even chocolate milk with Vitamin D is a better choice for a healthy kids snack.
